It has been my great honor to serve on our Board of Directors this past year. I have observed, first hand, the dedication and commitment each board member and every one of Lakeview’s staff puts forth every day to make Lakeview Light & Power (LL&P) the best it can be for its members. While the Board, including myself, was faced with many challenges this year, every decision was fully supported by thorough consideration of past events and decisions, our current position, and every reasonable predication of what the future will likely bring. On every action and decision I heavily weighted “what is best for our members?”, this being my driving force in each discussion and decision. I have gained experience in understanding how power works, what challenges are faced in getting that power to our members at a cost that is fair and as low as possible, and developing relationships within LL&P as well as our neighboring power utilities and organizations. My husband and I moved to the LL&P service area in 2010. I’m employed by the United States Treasury Department and just celebrated 15 years of public service. I’ve worked 16 years in the retail industry for a small business. My volunteer work has included volunteer tax preparation, the Humane Society, and Tomodachi Dojo. I have invested many hours this past year in shadowing staff to gain a better understanding of how the day to day operations are handled, attending meetings with and on behalf of LL&P, as well as researching and reading about issues and power topics in order to better serve our membership. My goals as your Board member are to maintain low rates while continuing LL&P’s reputation for excellent customer service and reliable power.
